Heather Lynn is an abstract mixed medium painter located in Washington, DC. She specializes in large scale residential, commercial and commission work. Heather’s work is often dense with her self created texture mediums and constructed with vibrant color, movement and depth. Her work has been curated and juried in many exhibitions over the United States. Her work is also held in private collections throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. She is currently working as a Resident Artist at Artist and Makers Studios and has a thriving art practice..

 

Due to Heather Lynn’s children’s life and death medical experiences – she walks through life with an altered perspective. This lens has led Heather to create large-scale abstract paintings that are composed of bright tones, or contrasting colors, complimented by a dense texture. Her background in photography and ceramics help inform her practice. Her inspiration often comes from a restless night’s sleep: the colors, shapes and movement float as she emerges into consciousness. Such elements contribute to her style – loose but connected – and are recognizable throughout her body of work. Heather’s artistic intent is to create a feeling of a memory as opposed to a memory of a specific place. She hopes such sentiment shifts the way that people see themselves and the world – beautifully flawed and impossibly kind.

 

Heather has experienced great success as a professional artist with representation in Washington DC, New York City, Miami and Paris. She loves competing in juried exhibitions and has exhibited across America and Europe. She loves working with art consultants, interior designers and collectors to find the right piece in her inventory or in a commission for a client.

 

Her recent exhibits have included the carousel of Louvre in Paris, Superfine DC, Miami Art Basel Events of Red Dot Miami and Spectrum Miami, the 1St Dibs Gallery in NYC, the NYartGallery in NYC. In 2020 Heather will be exhibiting in Paris, Cannes, Venice, Switzerland, and in various US cities.
