Joseph Pecorino was born in New York City in 1934. After service in the US Army Intelligence Corp overseas, he attended Pace University and Hunter College, obtaining a Master’s Degree in English. His creativity and experimentation with art began in the 1960’s when he became infatuated with the psychedelic colors of the decade.
Joseph’s extensive studies in history, philosophy, world religions and mythology had a major influence on his work as well. A large body of his work focuses on women, fashion, and flowers, self-described as the quintessential embodiment of beauty.
In 1996, Joseph resettled to The Villages in Florida where he became interested in the rapid growth of the region and began cataloging its expansion as a major photography installation, now held by the Historical Society of Lady Lake.
Joseph’s artwork has been exhibited in New York, London, and Florida and has been the focus of multiple media outlets during his extensive career. His mosaic “Flowers” won him widespread recognition.
His first posthumous exhibition will be held at the Steidel Fine Art Palm Beach showroom from September 11th - December 10th, 2018. A curated collection of Joseph’s work will be on display for acquisition. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
