Ulyana Stebelska is a visual artist working in mixed media painting. She was born and grew up in Lviv region of Western Ukraine, in her early twenties she has moved to the United States. Ulyana is a self-taught artist, she is now based in Dubuque, IA. Her substrate of choice is wood panels as they lend themselves well to her techniques of mark making and revealing the layers of history in her work. She draws her inspiration from forms and textures found in nature; also, from patterns, shadows, reflections, geometric forms and she enjoys the experience of discovery as a painting unfolds. 
 

Ulyana’s work is held in private collections in the United States, Canada, and Ukraine. She has participated in May 2019 edition of The Other Art Fair in Chicago. Her work has won a first place in the abstract/experimental category of the Artist Magazine 2019 Annual Art Competition and will be published in the December 2019 edition of the magazine.
